I love everything! But "Snorkelabra" made me laugh outloud!

Clever and resourceful: great job all 'round!

I totally love the results of this exercise. This relates very well to the real world of design. It's easy to pull out all the stops for a cool client whose product you love. But in the real world, you don't get to choose the client. So when the pill box manufacturer comes calling...

Great job everyone!

just wanted to say love the ideas. love the whole project. luh-hove the cheese grater lamp. went to my nearest dollar store today hoping to find similar goodies... found only a large collection of crap. Even the cheese graters were sub-par. I suppose this means I don't have the eye for it but thanks for sharing the inspiration!

Those swim goggle jewelry pieces are brilliant. I think I've got at least 3 broken pairs of those lying around house. I'll have to try this.

Thanks!

The cheese grater lamp is fantastic. It's all really great but I love the lamp. Do you have any pictures of it being lit in the dark? Very nicely done.

The toothbrush as keyboard cleaner was lame- that's a hint from Heloise from the paper! Otherwise, pretty coll stuff.

This is a nice dollar store item. I've never seen a cute but definitely useful item like this:-)

I too, build these things and shop at dollarstores for tons of things.

a. There are nice shower curtains to "build" in layers using cutouts or making your own out of designs for an artistic bathroom: stencils of animals, frogs, use a sponge and cut it out, make paint on the wall or wallpaper border to match.

b. build candles for the wall (got the idea from a roommate) buy jelly jars, clear spray paint, small tea lights, twist copper or aluminum wire and hang up as a lamp that's safe and candle lit in a hallway.

c. using odds and ends from tools section and arts section you can build towel racks, suspension materials for curtains, etc. ...

i LOVE the dollarstore and curated part of a 40,000 item e-commerce checkout dollarstore (dollarchimp.com).

I love these ideas on this page. Especially the table made out of serving trays. How cute!
